Sundance Center
At first glance, Sundance Center might seem like a fairly straightforward shopping
center. But this project for Vandervert Development is a little more complicated
than it looks.
With its Albertsons grocery store and a long row of shops, it is a massive structure.
Initially, people in the neighborhood were concerned about the size, especially
the rear of the building.
After listening to their concerns we adjusted our design so the building's back
is articulated and more subdued. These measures de-emphasize the structure's size
without actually making it smaller.
On the front of the building color played a big role. We developed a color scheme
to differentiate the smaller shops from Albertsons so the grocery store, while maintaining
a strong presence, doesn't overwhelm everything else. |
